CLAYTON-- Customer service has always been the top priority for Byron Youngblood during his 34 years at the United States Postal Service.  He began working at the Clayton Post Office on Oct. 11, 1986 and retires at the end of this year.

Test results show high rate of spread

Rabun County continues to have one of the highest rates of positives among those tested for COVID-19, which is a leading indicator of the rate of community spread, health officials say. As of Tuesday, the Georgia Dept. of Public Health reported 197 new cases of COVID-19 in Rabun County.

Rabun schools go to virtual learning

TIGER--Rabun County Schools will implement virtual, distance-based learning for all instruction until the end of the year due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, officials announced this week. All instruction will be virtual, distance-based beginning Wednesday, Dec.

'Into the Woods' performed at Rearden Theater

"The show must go on" - it's a mantra the Rabun Gap arts department truly took to heart this season as they created and produced a one-of-a-kind musical experience in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Rabun Gap students performed "Into the Woods" as this year's fall musical.

Rabun's Tiger Mountain Vineyards awarded 2 gold medals in Georgia competition

Tiger Mountain Vineyards was recently awarded two gold medals in the annual 2020 Georgia Trustees Wine Competition. Gold went to Tiger’s 2018 Cabernet Franc and to the 2018 Tannat, an unusual French varietal pioneered in Georgia by TMV founder, the late Dr. John Ezzard.

RGNS to open Early Learning Center for 3-year-olds

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is excited to announce the creation of our Early Learning Center which will include the addition of a half-day PreK program for three-year-olds.

A very Clayton Christmas

CLAYTON-- COVID didn't stop Christmas from coming to downtown Clayton last Saturday for the annual Christmas parade.  "The Christmas parade was absolutely fabulous," said Juanita Shope, president of the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce.
