Lake Burton Foundation gives $5,000 to Camp Evergreen

Lake Burton Civic Association Foundation (LBCAF), a 501c3 charity organization, today announced an LBCAF Grant Award Recipient in the amount of $5,000. The grant recognizes charitable organizations that are making an important community impact in Rabun County or the surrounding area.

When Heather Conner went skiing with friends on Lake Rabun in mid-October, her goal was to get some great photographs. She accomplished that goal, and one of her photos has been chosen as the cover art winner for the winter 2020 edition of Lake Living magazine.

Curbside grocery pickup comes to Clayton

Starting today, the Clayton Walmart will be offering curbside grocery pickup on select items. And it's just in time for the holidays. Get the app or go to Walmart.com/grocery. Walmart has designated parking spaces for anyone using this service.

CLAYTON-- The recently-passed food truck ordinance for the city of Clayton was revisited by council members Tuesday after questions arose about definitions and specifics in the ordinance.  Council member John Bradshaw was not present at the meeting.

Water demands threaten treated supply

CLAYTON-- Concerns about excessive water usage in the city of Clayton were addressed by representatives of the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) at Tuesday’s city council meeting.  Brett Cohee of the RCWSA and Brendan Thompson, general manager for the RCWSA, addressed council members.
