Testing delays making a tough job tougher at Mountain View Health

CLAYTON—It’s a surreal setting. At Mountain View Health & Rehab, a long-term care facility on Warwoman Road, 46 of the 86 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, according to cumulative numbers provided by the Georgia Dept. of Community Health. A total of 18 have recovered.

Suspect charged with theft of $20,000 in goods at K&B

MOUNTAIN CITY— The theft of about $20,000 worth of merchandise at a Mountain City business led to the arrest of a man in Franklin, (N.C.).  An investigation was opened after a burglary occurred at K and B Auction Company in Mountain City on July 22 at approximately 4:30 a.m.

School is start delayed to Aug. 19

TIGER— Just as information about the coronavirus pandemic is constantly changing, plans for the 2020-21 school year are changing also, and the start of school has been pushed back five days to Wednesday, August 19.

Commissioners approve funding for Forward Rabun

CLAYTON-- Forward Rabun has partnered with Rabun County Commissioners to distribute hotel/motel tax funds for tourism development on the county’s behalf following a unanimous vote from county commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday.

Graduates offered 2 options for graduation ceremony

TIGER— Rabun County Schools will hold graduation on Saturday, August 1 and students have an opportunity to choose between two graduation plans: a “traditional stadium graduation” or a “personal drive through graduation.

Schools set to open in next month

CLAYTON--The 2019-20 academic school year ended in an untraditional fashion due to the coronavirus pandemic and plans for the new school year are starting in an unconventional way.

CLAYTON— The North Georgia Arts Guild heard a presentation from one of three scholarship winners awarded 2020 arts scholarships from the Arts Guild’s Scholarship Program, at their meeting at the pavilions behind the Civic Center last Thursday.
