County, schools roll back millage rates

The Rabun County Board of Commissioners and Rabun County Board of Education both lowered their 2020 millage rates following about a one percent increase in property tax values after the 2020 Tax Digest was approved by the Rabun County Board of Tax Assessors earlier this month.

TIGER--The coronavirus pandemic has reshaped how daily tasks and processes are completed, and with Rabun County Schools back in session, precautions have been implemented on school buses to ensure the safety of children.

CLAYTON--The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia private driveway at the intersection of Chechero St. and Plaza Way is now open to traffic after months of being barricaded due to the culvert that needed to be repaired.

School is back in session and that means those yellow Rabun County school buses are back on the roadway, so drivers should use caution, be aware of school buses on the road and follow the law.  “Pay attention and watch for the school buses,” said Clayton Chief of Police Andy Strait.
