UPDATE: Two fatalities in accident involving 5 vehicles near Clayton Saturday

A Scaly Mountain, N.C. couple was killed and three others were injured in an accident involving five vehicles on Saturday, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP). The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 441 and Old Highway 441 in Clayton.

Rabun seniors to be honored with parade in Clayton May 28

CLAYTON— Rabun County High School Class of 2020 will be honored in a drive-thru parade in Clayton next Thursday.  A road closure permit to close down Main St. to allow a parade procession to travel through and honor seniors next Thursday at 6 p.m.

Rabun voters begin receiving absentee ballots

CLAYTON— Voters are beginning to receive their absentee ballots from the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, but the contents used to secure the ballot before mailing it in will look a little different for the June 9 election.

Shooting incidents lead to arrest

CLAYTON— A Buford woman was arrested after two incidents involving gunfire in Rabun County, one being in front of the Clayton Police Department, occurred on Sunday.

Commissioners approve preliminary county budget

CLAYTON— The Rabun County Board of Commissioners passed a motion to approve the preliminary 2020-2021 budget of $22,893,238 at a meeting Wednesday.  This is about $320,000 less than the previous year, when budget expenditures were $23,212,545.
