MOUNTAIN CITY— The theft of about $20,000 worth of merchandise at a Mountain City business led to the arrest of a man in Franklin, (N.C.).  An investigation was opened after a burglary occurred at K and B Auction Company in Mountain City on July 22 at approximately 4:30 a.m.

TIGER— Just as information about the coronavirus pandemic is constantly changing, plans for the 2020-21 school year are changing also, and the start of school has been pushed back five days to Wednesday, August 19.

Commissioners approve funding for Forward Rabun

CLAYTON-- Forward Rabun has partnered with Rabun County Commissioners to distribute hotel/motel tax funds for tourism development on the county’s behalf following a unanimous vote from county commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday.

TIGER— Rabun County Schools will hold graduation on Saturday, August 1 and students have an opportunity to choose between two graduation plans: a “traditional stadium graduation” or a “personal drive through graduation.

CLAYTON— The North Georgia Arts Guild heard a presentation from one of three scholarship winners awarded 2020 arts scholarships from the Arts Guild’s Scholarship Program, at their meeting at the pavilions behind the Civic Center last Thursday.

Clayton council gives funds to Forward Rabun

CLAYTON— Clayton council members voted unanimously at Tuesday’s meeting to allocate a portion of hotel/motel tax funds to Forward Rabun. Council member Michelle Duquette was not present at the meeting and participated via speakerphone.
