Parade for RCHS seniors rescheduled for Tuesday

The senior drive-thru parade to honor the Rabun County High School Class of 2020 scheduled for May 28 is postponed due to the rain, said Cissy Henry, Clayton city manager, Wednesday.  The parade is now scheduled for Tuesday, June 2 at 6 p.m.

Couple killed in crash near Clayton

CLAYTON--A multi-vehicle accident near Clayton on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of a Scaly Mountain, N.C. couple.  The accident occurred near the intersection of US 441 and Old Highway 441. David Head, 46, and Dawn Head of Scaly Mountain, N.C.

Board hears report on online learning

TIGER— The 2019-2020 school year ended under unusual circumstances to say the least, but teachers at Rabun County Schools found ways to continue educating students by untraditional means during these unprecedented times.

Memorial Day marked with somber ceremony

CLAYTON— Memorial Day honors those military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, and Rabun County came together to do just that in a ceremony on Monday.

Class of 2020 makes history with virtual graduation

TIGER— Last Friday, Rabun County High School Principal Justin Spillers presented the graduating Class of 2020 in an unprecedented way: virtually.  Although under unique circumstances, Spillers began commencement with a message of inspiration to students.

Wooden boats in parade as Lake Burton turns 100

LAKE BURTON— Lake Burton made history with the first-ever Wooden Boat Parade on Sunday, and organizer Andrew Harris said that it was a success.  The parade was part of the centennial celebration of Lake Burton, one of many events for the summer-long birthday party.
