FAITH ball, Soda Fountain gala lead to heart-felt Valentine joy

Two recent events conjured up smiling faces as they showed love to local nonprofits in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The F.A.I.T.H. 23rd annual “Sweetheart Ball” was held at the Rabun County Civic Center on Feb.

Wolffork Baptist Church children give back with ‘Blessing Bags’

Wolffork Baptist Church in Rabun Gap offers children and youth opportunities to grow in faith but also experience hands-on mission opportunities.
Forward Rabun’s Youth Leadership team traveled to the Georgia State Capitol for Day 10 of the 2023 Georgia General Assembly session and also got an opportunity to meet with Gov. Forward Rabun Youth Leadership visits State Capitol

Members of Forward Rabun’s Youth Leadership team traveled to the Georgia State Capitol to visit with local legislators and observe day number 10 of the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

The couple has five children; 17 biological grandchildren; one great-grand child; and helped raise five Russian orphans. They also authored books about their lives and encourage everyone to read them as daily devotionals honoring God.

It was love at first sight for George and Marywinn Lent when they met in Athens, Ga., 56 years ago. That love has grown over decades and is nurtured by their Christian faith and devotion to serving Jesus Christ. Valentine’s Day is coming up Feb.
