GenSol Diagnostics, a local animal genetics testing company, hosted seventh grade science students from Rabun County Middle School for a field trip to learn more about genetics. Forty-two students visited the laboratory on Feb. 14 with their teachers Jacob Bennett and Ryan Backer.

DEMOREST, GA -- Piedmont University Natural Science students have been presenting their research at conferences all over the Southeast. Rhylee Wittrock and Imani Vincent shared their research at Confluence 2023, Georgia Adopt-A-Stream's Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Conference.

The Georgia District Anchor Club received a Helmet Matching Grant from Pilot International for a 2023 Georgia District Anchor Convention project. Through this grant, the Georgia District Anchor Club received 25 high quality helmets to combine with the helmets they purchased.

Plans to demolish and rebuild the Rabun County Golf Club building are underway as commissioners voted at a special called meeting March 30 to approve a demolition bid for approximately $47,000 from Tom Adams Construction. The building sustained heat and smoke damage from fire that occurred Dec.
