Moonrise Distillery seeks deannexation

Seeking to deannex its property from the City of Clayton, Moonrise Distillery, Inc. gained the approval of Rabun County Commissioners, but ultimately the business still requires the Clayton city council’s OK to have its 31 Webb Rd. location released to the county.

McKay appointed to Georgia’s Literacy Task Force

Rabun County Schools will educate every child for success in life. The foundation of that success starts with literacy. Teaching children to read is something that’s always been important to Assistant Superintendent Kelly McKay.

Sky Valley receiving reports of feral hogs

The City of Sky Valley is receiving reports of increasing feral hog activity and property damage in the community, city officials reported recently. Assistant Public Works Director Cody English gave an update about the feral hog activity at Sky Valley’s Sept. 15 council meeting.

Rabun County is now considered a “Purple Heart County” thanks to a resolution passed by commissioners during Tuesday’s Sept. 22 regular meeting.

Great resource to the schools

Rabun County’s School Resource Officers (SROs) play an important role in keeping students and staff at Rabun County Schools safe. They are a division of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

Tiger council approves church variance

WOW! It's National Recovery Month

With September being proclaimed “National Recovery Month” by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, local nonprofit Women of Worth (WOW) Recovery continues to make strides in helping women break free from the chains of addiction, trauma and brokenness through a Christ-centered recovery program.
