RCHS among state’s best high schools

Rabun County High School (RCHS) gets the grade as being one of the Best High Schools in the state and nation after a recent ranking from U.S. News and World Report.

Town’s councilman Urpschot resigns

Tallulah Falls council member Gerald Michael “Mike” Urpschot resigned from his position on the Town Council effective Sept. 9. Urpschot submitted his resignation in writing addressed to “The Mayor and Council of Tallulah Falls.

A beacon for Jesus

It’s an adventure to serve the Lord and Freedom Ministries Lighthouse has been on a 10-year adventure of serving God and guiding men on their sobriety journeys. The nonprofit celebrated 10 years of what the Lord has done during a special service on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Rabun County 4-H students compete at 83rd Annual Georgia 4-H State Congress

Two Rabun County 4-H members represented their county at the 83rd Annual Georgia 4-H State Congress, held in Atlanta, on July 21-24, where Georgia’s top high school    4-H’ers gathered to compete, celebrate achievements, and showcase leadership.

Sixth annual ‘Picnic for a Purpose’ supports hope & healing at Place of Hope North Georgia

Hope, healing and community have a home at Place of Hope North Georgia. Community members rallied together to support children and parents in the Foster Care System of North Georgia during the 2026 6th annual “Picnic for a Purpose” fundraiser event held on Thursday, Sept.

Paving for progress

Clayton city council members approved several paving quotes from Howard’s Precision Paving LLC for city streets during the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Officials said the funding will come from Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST).

Don’t bail on decorating a hay bale for the trail

The first day of Fall is coming up on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and it’s that time of year for Sky Valley’s famous and unique Hay Bale Trail. The hay bales can be spotted throughout the City of Sky Valley as residents and visitors enjoy the beautiful fall decorations.
