North Georgia Community Players find ‘Treasure’ is the kids

Doesn’t every kid dream of becoming a Caribbean pirate? North Georgia Community Players Creative Director Foy Tootle thought so and gave kids the chance to join two pirate crews in the search for “Treasure Island,” presented at The Cowee School in Franklin, N.C., June 28.

JEKYLL ISLAND, GA. - The staff of The Clayton Tribune was honored with multiple awards at the 2025 Better Newspaper Contest on June 20 at the Jekyll Island Club during the Georgia Press Association’s 138th annual convention. Wade Cheek, the Tribune’s sports editor, earned three awards.

County passes $31.4 million projection
