Rabun County Sheriff’s Office K9 Jorka retires after 6 years

Rabun County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy Jorka officially retired from her career during a special reception held at the sheriff’s office Sept. 8. K9 Jorka is 8 years old and has been a working member of the sheriff’s office since late September 2017.

Rabun County Schools ‘miles’ ahead academically

Students at Rabun County Schools once again tested the top in the state as they exceeded in many subjects during Georgia Milestones testing. Assistant Superintendents Kelly McKay and Matt Remillard gave a student achievement presentation for all grade levels during the Aug.

Qualifying continues for Tallulah Falls special election

Qualifying in the Tallulah Falls special election continues until the close of business on Friday to fill the vacant seat of councilperson Tom Tilley who resigned. Tilley’s term on the Tallulah Falls City Council is set to expire in December 2025. The qualifying for Tilley’s seat began at 9 a.m.
