Northeast Georgia Health System names employees of year at annual service awards celebration

GAINESVILLE – Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) recently recognized two employees as its 2023 Employees of the Year, the highest honor a NGHS employee can receive.

Inaugural civic center artist showcase a success

A new showcase of exhibitors came to Clayton April 29-30 for the inaugural Sassafras Artisan Market presented by the North Georgia Arts Guild. Crowds of people showed out over the weekend to enjoy the many different types of featured artists and crafts available.

Georgia state parks plug into new electric vehicle charger program

  Tallulah Gorge State Park played host as Gov. Brian Kemp, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Georgia Power Company, and automotive technology company Rivian unveiled a program that will place electric vehicle chargers at six state parks.

Wildfire burns 9.3 acres after mobile home power pole collides with power line

DILLARD– A wildfire on Bettys Creek Road near Colony Road in Dillard burned approximately 9.3 acres Wednesday, April 19, after the power pole on a mobile home that was being transported collided with a power line. Rabun County Fire Services Station 5 was dispatched around 3:37 p.m.
