Officer remembered as 'one of a kind'

The law enforcement community in Rabun County is mourning the loss of one of its own sisters in blue, Detention Center Officer Courtney Faith Zajdowicz.  Zajdowicz, 26 of Mountain City, passed away Sept. 1.

Guffie pleads guilty to obscene Internet contact with a child

Kenneth Jake Guffie, 35, of Clayton pleaded guilty to one count of obscene Internet contact with a child in Rabun County Superior Court August 31. The plea agreement states “Nol Pros” to one count of computer pornography and one count of criminal attempt to commit a felony.

Rabun County Fire Services receives grant from Georgia Arson Control

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Fire Services Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) was recently awarded a grant from Georgia Arson Control for a camera to document high-quality photos at fire investigation scenes.

Rabun County Detention Center Officer killed in crash

A Rabun County Detention Officer was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 441 just North of Clayton city limits Wednesday evening, according to a statement from Georgia State Patrol.
