Rifle grabs win over Class 7A Parkview

The Tallulah Falls School Precision Rifle team wasn’t daunted by the task of taking on a Class 7A opponent on the road. On Dec. 9, the rifle team beat Parkview 1,117-971.

Rabun Gap successful in string of basketball contests

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys now stand at 9-6 on the season after playing five games over a seven-day period. During the seven days, the Eagles went an impressive 4-1. On Dec. 21, the Eagles dropped its lone game in the sequence to an undefeated Charlotte Latin team at home 68-45.

Wildcats’ McKay signs to play basketball at Lander

Rabun County High basketball standout Connor McKay will fulfill his goal to play collegiately after signing Dec. 1 with Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. Through the Wildcats’ first six games this season, McKay averaged a double-double — 26.3 points and 11 rebounds — while shooting 92.

Wildcats dominate all-region football squad

Befitting a dominant region champion, Rabun County High football has plenty of representation on the all-Region 8-AA team.  After a season of tormenting defenses and resetting records, quarterback Gunner Stockton was named Player of the Year.

TFS splits twinbill with Hayesville in home openers

The Indian girls won big and the boys watched their five-game win streak end in Tallulah Falls School’s home basketball openers last Friday.  Behind a game-high 27 points from Denika Lightbourne, the girls, ranked 10th in Class A Private, pounded Hayesville, N.C.

TFS swims to third, fifth places

The Tallulah Falls varsity swim teams dove back into the season following the Thanksgiving break at Habersham Central’s Jingle Jam Invitational in Clarkesville on Saturday.
