TFS girls cagers start new chapter with Hamilton

The Tallulah Falls School girls basketball team is set to pen a new chapter, as the 2021-22 season features new head coach Lowell Hamilton stepping in. Hamilton will have a roster that includes a few key pieces from last season’s playoff team, including a pair of All-Region selections.

RCHS places seventh, 17th at Class AA cross-country meet

The Rabun County High cross-country girls brought home seventh place and the boys 17th from the state Class AA meet last Friday in Carrollton.  “Both the girls and boys team ran their best race,” RCHS coach April Adcock said. “I could not have asked for a better performance.

Region 8-AA title is Wildcats’ eighth straight

Rabun County rules Region 8-AA for the eighth straight season, as the Wildcats rode a first-half wave and another Gunner Stockton state record over Union County, 56-14 last Friday night in rainy Blairsville. “It’s a testament to our staff, our players, to Rabun County,” head coach Jaybo Shaw said.

Eagles blast High Point, eye playoffs

Getting touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee closed the regular season 7-2 by steamrolling visiting High Point Christian, 58-6 last Friday. “We got after them pretty good,” Rabun Gap head coach Joe Sturdivant said.

Elbert is no trouble for ’Cats

The Rabun County Wildcats continued their rampage through Region 8-AA and Gunner Stockton closed in on another state record following their 45-7 walloping of visiting Elbert County last Friday.

Two playoff wins put Rabun Gap boys in NCISAA soccer final

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys soccer squad reached the finals of the state tournament after two playoff victories over the past week.  Seeded No. 2 in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association Class 4A brackets, RGNS received byes through the quarterfinals.
