Hortons sign to play golf at the University of North Georgia

Rabun County High senior student-athletes Garrett and Connor Horton will stay teammates in college, after signing national letters of intent last Thursday to play golf at the University of North Georgia.  “They’re two tremendous young men,” RCHS golf coach David Adcock said at a signing ceremony.

The Rabun County Recreation Department has added to its list of state and district Agency of the Year awards, earning both accolades from the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA).

TFS dribblers split hoops twinbill with Mount Paran

The Indian boys pulled out a win and the girls tumbled in a season-opening hoops doubleheader last Friday at Mount Paran. Anfernee Hanna scored a team-high 17 points, while Gavin Page added 13 and Milos Vico 11 in the boys’ 60-47 triumph.

Tallulah Falls swimmers host Hawaiian Luau Invitational meet, finish second

The Tallulah Falls School swim program hosted the Hawaiian Luau Invitational last Saturday, with several swimmers setting new bests and even some school records being set.  The varsity teams both finished second overall among five teams.

Rabun County and Pace Academy had never met on the gridiron before this season. By the end of Friday night, they’ll have two meetings in the history books. Rabun County High is planning to speed past the competition this season as both of its basketball teams are built to push the tempo as a new season dawns. The Ladycats were 19-7 last season and in the Sweet 16, and have four returning starters that could help them go further.

Prince third individually, TFS teams place 13th at state cross-country

Racing at state for the final time as a high-school runner, Tallulah Falls School’s Evan Prince finished third overall at the Class A Private meet last Saturday in Carrollton. The Indian boys and girls both placed 13th in the team standings over a tough, double-loop, mostly grass course.

TFS girls cagers start new chapter with Hamilton

The Tallulah Falls School girls basketball team is set to pen a new chapter, as the 2021-22 season features new head coach Lowell Hamilton stepping in. Hamilton will have a roster that includes a few key pieces from last season’s playoff team, including a pair of All-Region selections.

RCHS places seventh, 17th at Class AA cross-country meet

The Rabun County High cross-country girls brought home seventh place and the boys 17th from the state Class AA meet last Friday in Carrollton.  “Both the girls and boys team ran their best race,” RCHS coach April Adcock said. “I could not have asked for a better performance.
