Rabun wins two in region volleyball

Two-set victories over Commerce and Putnam County last Thursday elevated the Rabun County volleyball squad to 4-2 in region play.

’Cats power through Saluda, 63-7

Another trip to the Carolinas last Friday night became another Rabun County High gridiron romp. Saluda, ranked fourth in South Carolina, was little more than a speed bump as the Wildcats got five Gunner Stockton touchdown passes and two defensive touchdowns in a 63-7 pasting.

Rabun strikes early, often in 59-14 rout of Murphy

A slight detour in the schedule last Friday proved little trouble for Rabun County, which rolled host Murphy, N.C., for more than 600 total yards in a 59-14 rout.  The game, arranged after Rabun’s original matchup against Walhalla was called off, was a lopsided affair from the start.

The Lady Indians, after taking a pair of wins last Friday in the Rocky Top Tournament in Tennessee, followed it up with a sensational day of play on Saturday.  In the final day, TFS won matches over Ridgeland and John Battle, while losing to Station Camp.
