Eagles overwhelm East Forsyth, 45-7

Striking quickly and often, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee scored on seven of 10 possessions and breezed, 45-7, last Friday at East Forsyth. The Eagles were lethal from long distance in Gainesville, with four touchdowns covering 49 yards or more.

ESPN returning for Wildcats' Saturday game against Pace

Welcome back, ESPN. For the second straight season, the network will find its way to Rabun County, this year for the Wildcats’ 6 p.m. showdown Saturday with fellow Class AA program Pace Academy at Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium. The game, to be aired on ESPN2, is also Rabun County’s home opener.

Slow start stings Eagles in opening defeat at Baylor

By the time Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School gained some traction last Friday night, it was too late. In Chattanooga, Tenn., the Eagles were constantly playing catch-up, trailing Baylor, 21-0 after a quarter en route to a 35-21 defeat.

Rabun spikers defeat Elbert

The Lady volleyball Wildcats opened the regular-season Aug. 10 with a best-of-five triumph at Elbert County, then dropped straight-set decisions to Dawson County and Lanier last Thursday. “We played very well against Elbert,” RCHS coach April Jones said.

Wildcats, St. Francis square off in Friday scrimmage

Last week, fans circled the Rabun County High football practice field to watch the Wildcats in an evening workout. On Friday night, the action switches to Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium in Tiger as St. Francis of Alpharetta visits for a 7:30 scrimmage.
