Development coming to Clayton with 91 units

CLAYTON– Land clearing is underway for a 91-unit rental development planned on property located across from Clayton City Hall, 37 Bynum St./0 Holden St. as the project is stirring up more than dust.

Trash pickup continues for Clayton City residents

Trash pickup will continue for Clayton City residents. Clayton City Council members approved a bid from Central Waste to continue picking up household garbage inside city limits at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The rate for Clayton city residents who opt for garbage pickup will increase to $19.

CLAYTON– The entrance to Hiawassee Street from Highway 76 W in Clayton is temporarily closed while city officials repair a sewage line in the area.

Otto, N.C. man charged with DUI after Mountain City crash

MOUNTAIN CITY– An Otto, N.C. man is charged with DUI-less safe and reckless driving following a single-vehicle crash on Georgia 15 at George Eller Curve in Mountain City March 5. Joshua Allen Caruthers, 33, was driving south on Georgia 15 around 7 p.m.

Mountain City Playhouse brings back memories with soft opening

MOUNTAIN CITY– Rabun County residents traveled back in time Saturday with the nostalgia of putting on their dancing shoes and heading to the Mountain City Playhouse with friends and family for an evening of buck dancing, clogging and bunny hopping.

SKY VALLEY– With the main entrance to the Sky Valley Country Club still temporarily closed to repair of a large culvert, motorists have opted for another entrance and exit into a majority of the town.
