RCMS custodian charged with grooming minor

A Rabun County Middle School custodian has been fired and has a no trespass warning to be on campus property following the 64-year-old’s arrest for grooming a minor for a sexual offense while at work. Daniel Guevara of Tiger was charged on Nov.

City council votes for property tax hike in Sky Valley

Following the final of three public hearings Tuesday, Nov. 18, the Sky Valley city council voted in favor of a property tax increase. The city council’s approval was for an increase of the 2025 property taxes that are planned to be levied this year by 6.62 percent over the rollback millage rate.

Tallulah Falls water rates going up next five years

The Tallulah Falls Town Council agreed – with apprehension – to increase the residents’ water rates by 5 percent and also continue to increase the rate each year through 2030. “It is not going to be popular, but it is the grownup thing to do,” said Mayor Mike Early at the council’s Nov.

Rabun County now home to six new Eagle Scouts

Six young Rabun Countians have earned the distinction of Eagle Scout because of their commitment and dedication to the Scout Oath and Law. The new Eagle Scouts are Liam Broz, Andrew Causin, Ben McKissack, Chauncey Nalley, Koda Rodriguez and Quinn Weingartz.
