McCrackin named RAMSHACKLE RISING STAR for 2026

Clayton, GA – Jake McCrackin, a lifelong Rabun County resident, has been named the “RISING STAR of 2026” for this year’s Ramshackle event. With his band, Blueridge Lonesome, McCrackin performs Southern Rock/Country favorites from the 1970s through today.

Local organizations and public safety officials were recognized for their community efforts during recent Winter Storms Fern and Gianna at the Monday, Feb. 23, meeting of the Rabun County Board of Education.

It was God’s perfect timing that put Sky Valley Police Officer Andrew Williams in the right place at the right time when he rescued a couple from a house fire at 1824 Ridgepole Drive in Sky Valley on the evening of Jan. 22. The heroic rescue caught the attention of Georgia’s Ninth District U.S.

Ramshackle returns for third year

The downtown Clayton bonanza of fun with music, art and food called Ramshackle will be back for its third year with a full new slate of entertainment. Like the previous two years that drew thousands to Main Street and beyond, the all-day event will be on the first Saturday in June.
