Clayton council talks over proposal for trail system

Area power outage in Clayton due to downed tree on Hwy. 441

Businesses and residences in parts of downtown Clayton experienced a power outage on the morning of Thursday, March 12 after a tree fell on a powerline on Ga. 15 at O’Reilly Auto Parts. The outage affected businesses on Highway 76 East and Highway 441. Around 10:50 a.m.

The seat for county Magistrate Judge and posts on Rabun County’s Board of Education and Board of Commissioners are up for grabs in the May 19 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election with nine candidates qualifying last week to run for local office.

Dillard officials announced March 10 that there’s a change the road could open back up by the end of April “weather permitting” and if everything goes as planned.

Lake Rabun Foundation announces $50,000 grant for the ‘F.A.I.T.H. in the Future’ capital campaign

The Lake Rabun Foundation (LRF) has made the largest grant in its history to the “F.A.I.T.H. in the Future” capital campaign. This grant was part of $200,000 in grants the Foundation made to over 40 non-profit organizations in Rabun County in 2025.
