Clayton awarded $750,000 grant for water system improvements

CLAYTON-- The City of Clayton was recently awarded $750,000 from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for water system improvements.  The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program supports community projects, creates jobs and assists low-to-moderate-income citizens.

Tallulah zoning board recommends denial of rezoning request

TALLULAH FALLS— The Tallulah Falls Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously last Thursday at a special called meeting to recommend to the City Council denial of an application to rezone a Single Family Residential (R1) property to Business District (BD).

Patrons get tour, find many items at Old School Garden plant sale

CLAYTON-- The Old School Garden (OSG) held its fall plant sale last Saturday. The sale included perennial and native plants, hand-crafted scarecrows, pumpkins, tools and other garden items.

Mountaineer Festival attracts visitors

CLAYTON-- The Foxfire Mountaineer Festival brought crowds of people and about 50 vendors selling crafts and wares on Saturday.  It was a day of arts, crafts, music and more all in celebration of Appalachian Culture at the pavilions behind the Civic Center in Clayton.
