Grant allows for development of more affordable housing in Rabun

Rabun County was recently selected as one of five counties in Georgia to receive a 2022 community housing development grant. The Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) program is administered through the University of Georgia (UGA) College of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Lakemont man airlifted after accident

TIGER-- A Lakemont man was airlifted Sept. 23 following a one-vehicle accident on Burton Dam Road in Tiger.  “Crash time is unknown as the crash happened sometime on the evening of Sept. 22,” according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

Artists, craftsmen featured at Painted Fern Festival

The Painted Fern Festival held this past weekend, Sept. 25 and 26 at the Rabun County Civic Center, is the premier members art show of the North Georgia Arts Guild (NGAG).  Over 35 artists and fine craftsmen were featured at this year’s show.

Georgia elections director tours new Rabun County Board of Elections facility

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Board of Elections Office hosted new Georgia Elections Director Blake Evans at its new facility Tuesday.
