COVID-19 update

GDPH now confirming 8 COVID-19 cases in Rabun County

The Georgia Department of Health has issued their 7 p.m. update on COVID-19. One new case was reported in Rabun County.  The state has reported eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Rabun County as of Monday, April 20.   No confirmed deaths have been reported for Rabun County.

Rabun County Schools April Food Distribution Menu

Rabun County Schools released its April menu for food distribution.  These meals are provided at NO COST to all children ages 2-18, regardless of income. Children MUST be present to pick up meals, but they do not have to be Rabun County students.

Challenge Accepted

CLAYTON—When a small group of Lake Burton families issued a challenge to the community last week, they were hoping to raise as much as $100,00 for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.  The goal was not only met, it was smashed.

TIGER— Rabun County High School recently announced their top 3 students for the 2019-2020 school year.

Freeman completes firefighter training

Rabun County Fire Services recently announced that Dalton Freeman (Center) has graduated from the Basic Firefighter program at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Ga.

Clayton council tables short-term rentals ordinance

CLAYTON— Clayton City Council members discussed tabling the second reading of the short-term rental ordinance and debated the master meter at the Rabun County golf course in Tiger at their work session on Tuesday.
