Clayton council meeting for Tuesday cancelled

CLAYTON— The Clayton city council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 has been cancelled.  "Mayor Jordan Green is canceling the meeting for tomorrow night due to COVID-19. President Trump has advised no gatherings more than 10 people," said Cissy Henry, city manager, on Monday.

  ATLANTA – Concern for the safety of voters and poll workers due to the spread of coronavirus was behind the decision to postpone Georgia’s presidential primary from March 24 until May 19, elections officials said Monday.

"Because of the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and calling off events for about eight weeks, we are going to cancel Celebrate Clayton until April 2021, said Cathy Ford, event coordinator, on Monday.  Celebrate Clayton was scheduled in for April 25 and 26.

CLAYTON— Meeting in emergency session Friday afternoon, the Rabun County Board of Commissioners agreed to cancel public events at county venues and halt some services due to Coronavirus concerns.

Rhapsody in Rabun began in 1991 and has raised $1,435,215.20 while serving 19 charities over the years. Rhapsody in Rabun President Kathy Ford announced that “because of unusual circumstances” there will be no Taste of the Mountains Gala in 2020.
