Dillard is moving their city elections to Clayton

DILLARD— Dillard city council members adopted an ordinance to change their polling location for city elections to the Rabun County Civic Center at their March 10 meeting.  “All elections, qualifying, everything will be in Clayton,” said Claude Dillard, council member.

MOUNTAIN CITY— The Mountain City Complex--otherwise known as city hall-- is getting the green light for renovation projects after council members voted to accept bids at their council meeting on Tuesday, March 10.

Rabun's Young Authors

The purpose of the Young Georgia Author's (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics.

The Rabun County Library held an event to celebrate Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss, which was Monday, March 2. Children enjoyed story time along with singing and Dr. Seuss-themed activities and snacks.

Mental Health non-profit is proposed for Rabun County

Rabun County could potentially be gaining more options for mental health care with the creation of a nonprofit and Mental Health Task Force of Rabun County.

Ready for election season

Commissioners authorize salary study for employees

CLAYTON— In a 2-1 vote, Rabun County commissioners passed a motion to approve an agreement with the University of Georgia via the Carl Vinson Institute of Government to conduct a Classification and Compensation study, at their meeting last week.

Radford named RCHS STAR student

TIGER— Rabun County High School has selected senior Walker Radford as the 2019-2020 Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) student. Radford chose Terry Seehorn as his STAR teacher. Seehorn is known as “Doc” to many of his students.
