Rabun County Democrats host candidate Ferguson as guest speaker

The Rabun County Democrats hosted guest speaker Andrew Ferguson, Democratic candidate for the Georgia House for the counties of Barrow, Clarke, Oconee and Jackson. Ferguson, a UGA graduate, is currently a full-time editor for an investigations company.

When June Krise read the letter U.S. President Joe Biden posted on social media on Sunday afternoon, she had to fight back tears. Krise, who lives in Sautee Nacoochee and is the chair of the 9th District Democratic Party of Georgia, was with a group of Democrats at a fundraiser in Gainesville.

Rabun County participates in Statewide Bible Reading

On Sunday, July 14 at 7:14 a.m., community members in Rabun County joined Georgia’s other 158 counties in the 6th annual Statewide Bible Reading. Community members gathered on the courthouse steps with Pastors Adam Wright, Jr.

Community support for MLMC keeps growing

Habersham EMC recently made a generous donation to Mountain Lakes Medical Center’s Back-to-School Health Fair, coming up on Aug. 8.

City of Clayton proclaimed a Purple Heart City

The City of Clayton is now declared a Purple Heart City after city council members passed a proclamation at the July 16 meeting. Clayton joins the cities of Mountain City and Sky Valley in the designation. Purple Heart recipients are nationally recognized each year on Aug. 7.
