WOW! That’s a grand celebration!

Community members showed out to celebrate the grand opening of the Women of Worth (WOW) Recovery dorm on Tuesday, March 31. Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce held an official ribbon cutting and open house event among community partners, public officials and supporters of the mission.

Sky Valley rescinds $5 million in grant funding

Sky Valley city council members officially voted to rescind combined $5 million in grant funding from two different grants for the municipality’s proposed sewer project. The decision came in a 3-1 vote by council members during the March 26 special called council meeting.

First Greater Blessing now completed

The Rabun County Fuller Center has announced its first Greater Blessing has now been completed. A 71-year-old woman in the community can now greet the April rains with confidence, thanks to a new roof that has put an end to the leaks in her home.

RabunYES provides a Spring 2026 update

MedLink cuts ribbon on Rabun Health Campus

MedLink Georgia is celebrating 50 years of “Quality Healthcare for All” this year. The celebration continues as officials held the grand opening of the new Rabun Health Campus with a Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on March 26. The 31,000-plus sq. ft.

Sky Valley City Council members plan to re-vote on whether to rescind combined $5 million in grant funding from two different grants for the municipality’s proposed sewer project.

Sales tax goes to 8% April 1

Starting April 1, the sales tax in Rabun County will return to 8 percent for the next five years following the passing of the Transportation Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) in the Nov. 4, 2025, election. Currently, the local sales tax stands at 7 percent.

Thompson named as RCHS principal

Rabun County High School (RCHS) will see Kelsey Thompson as its new principal beginning July 1 after she was approved for the promotion by Rabun County Board of Education (BOE) members during the March 23 meeting. Board members voted following an executive session to discuss personnel.
