Marilyn Michel Callahan

Marilyn Michel Callahan, 96, Of Clayton, Ga. passed on March 5, 2020. She was born in Evansville, Indiana January 18, 1924. Her family moved to Miami, Florida in 1926 where she went to Elementary, Junior High School and High School. She attended University of Miami and Florida State University.

Cecil Guy Turner

Cecil Guy Turner, 78, of Clayton, Ga. passed away on March 5, 2020. He was born March 15, 1941 in Greenville, Tennessee the son of the late Lencil and Ruby Morgan Turner. Cecil worked in the medical field for 44 years; he was a very familiar face at Ridge Crest Hospital for many years.

Alice Joanna Cannon, 83, passed away on March 5, 2020 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton, Ga. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leamon Dean Dryman, Sr., 84, of Scaly Mountain, N.C., died March 6, 2020 at Highlands Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, N.C. Funeral services were held March 10 at the Scaly Mountain Church of God. Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robert Eugene Thrasher, 82, of Clayton, Ga., passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Interment was in Henry Cemetery, Hico, La.

Theresa Beth Baker of Clayton Ga., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at the age of 75. During her short four-year retirement stay in Clayton, she made many friends in the area.  She was full of life and enjoyed challenging herself with personal growth.

Eva Flack Herr, age 60 of Atlanta and Rabun Gap, Ga, passed away on Feb. 20, 2020. Eva split her time between the North Georgia mountains where she found solace and Atlanta where she was surrounded by family and friends.

Jane Ramey Pysher

Jane Ramey Pysher, 82, of Tiger, Ga., passed away at her daughter’s home on Feb. 25, 2020. Jane was born in Tiger, Ga., the daughter of the late Clyde Cannon Ramey and Effie Dawkins Ramey. Jane graduated from Rabun County High School and then attended Georgia State College for Women.

Timothy “Tim” Fred Long

Timothy “Tim” Fred Long, 71, of Clayton, Ga. passed away on March 3, 2020. Tim was born August 19, 1948 in Rabun County to the late R.L. “Billy”  Long and Annie Norton Long. He was a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School.  He married the love of his life Dorothea “Dede” Good.
