Lady Cats find momentum, roll over Union County in season opener

The No. 3 state-ranked Rabun County High School Lady Cat basketball team won its first game of the 2023-24 regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at home, with a victory over Union County 60-45.

‘Rumble in the Gap II’

While a celebratory aura filled the air at Zavala Family Stadium when Rabun Gap knocked off the Christ School 56-17 on Nov. 10 in the NCISAA semifinal game, the emotions were subdued. The job for the 13-0 and No. 43-ranked nationally Eagles is not complete. The ultimate goal comes Friday, Nov.

Lady Indians basketball to tip-off 2023-24 regular season

Tallulah Falls must find its identity quickly in 2023-24.  After seeing former TFS guard Denika Lightbourne move on to play basketball at Dayton University, that means the Lady Indians are forced to replace a huge chunk of their offensive output.  Lightbourne scored a school record 598 points (23.

The Indians turn the page from an era without their consistent star Anfernee Hanna, who is now off playing college hoops at Motlow State.  Hanna is the winningest player in program history and the third all-time leading scorer.

Eagles flock to rout Ravens in 55-6 first round

The No. 1 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football team began its path to the NCISAA state championship with a first-round victory over No. 8 Ravenscroft last Friday, Nov. 3, as the Eagles sent the Ravens back to Raleigh with a 55-6 loss that ended their season.
