Freaky Friday: Wildcats take first region loss since 2013

It was indeed a “Freaky Friday” as the Wildcats lost their first region matchup since the 2013 season, when it began a 50-game win streak against region opponents.  The Rabun County High School football team lost its region opener to Elbert County 21-9 at home on Oct. 13.

The 2023 North Georgia Highland Games were held in Clayton on Saturday, Sept. 30, where athletes competed in traditional Scottish games.

The Rabun County High School softball team won its non-region game on Monday night after defeating the Chestatee War Eagles 13-1.

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football team continued its undefeated season with a 57-22 win over visiting Metrolina Christian Academy in last Friday’s conference matchup.  It was “Pink-Out” night at Zavala Family Stadium as the Eagles dressed in pink to help spread awareness for breast cancer.

The 10-and-under boys claimed first place in their race to bring home the state title trophy last Saturday as the Rabun County Recreational cross country team competed in the GRPA State Championship at Lamar Murphy Park in Jefferson.

Wildcats race past St. Francis with 49-point first half

The Rabun County High School football team capped off its non-region schedule with a 49-13 victory over St. Francis.  The entirety of the Wildcats’ offensive onslaught came in the first half of the contest as they scored seven touchdowns before heading into the locker room.

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Middle School volleyball and boys soccer teams punched their ticket to this season’s Tri-State Finals after defeating Highlands School in both matches yesterday afternoon.
