Expectations high for TFS cross country season

The cross country program turns the page from the Evan Prince era. Now at the U.S. Naval Academy, Prince was a two-time region champion, and holds the TFS record for best time in cross country meet. The girls also move on from its lone three-time state qualifier in Lucy Alexander.

Eagles’ Roman scores five goals in three-game span

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee high school soccer team went 2-1 over the week, bringing their record to 4-1 early in the season. The defending North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A state champions defeated T.C. Roberson 3-1 on Aug. 17.

RCHS Lady Cats volleyball starts year 2-9

The Rabun County High School volleyball team went 1-3 over the week with their victory coming on Monday against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee. On Thursday, RCHS took on White County, falling 2-0 with a score of 5-25, 9-25.

Youth Tennis League winners

Rabun County tennis concluded its Youth Tennis League on Aug. 6 with a singles tournament on the courts at the high school. The five division winners were Tagg Bedingfield, Isaac Lewis, Drake Duchaine, Adelyn Thompson and Jack Getty. The photos were submitted to The Clayton Tribune.

RGNS volleyball looks to change culture with new staff

With a brand-new coaching staff, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School volleyball team is looking to bring more success on and off the court. Led by first-year head coach Zoe Kennedy, the Eagles return three seniors, Cheney Moriarty, Calea Jackson, and Claren Spivey, from last year’s 3-15 team.

2010-11 Lady Cat hoops team an all-time best

One of the winningest teams in Rabun County High School athletic history will be honored on Friday, Aug. 26. The 2010-2011 Lady Wildcats basketball team forged a record of 27 victories and only four defeats as it played its way to the Elite Eight round of the state tournament.

TFS earns split at Hart County volleyball

The Lady Indians played their second tri-match of the opening week, this time on the road against host school Hart County and also Elbert County. After a three-set loss to Hart after taking a 1-0 lead, Tallulah Falls rebounded with a convincing win over Elbert County to get back in the win column.
