Rabun Ramble runners ready for Saturday

To celebrate the Independence Day weekend, the annual Rabun Ramble 10K and 5K road races will be Saturday, July 2. To register for the July 2 races, applications are available online at www.rabunramble.com or at Rabun Chamber of Commerce.

Fun Run totals projected to hit 1,300

The 37th Lake Burton Fun Run is at its limits, but a few extra spots may still be available. Annually, 1,250 runners participate in the two-mile event that begins at the Moccasin Creek pavilion in Clarkesville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 2. The registration fee is $35 for the remaining spots.

July hot with rec department camp

Seven days a week the Rabun County Recreation swimming pool is open and July has summer programs remaining for the Rabun County Recreation Department. Monday through Friday the pool is available as people can assess the pool from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Registration deadline approaches for July 2 event

Tuesday is the deadline to sign up for the 37th Lake Burton Fun Run. A projected 1,250 runners are expected for the July 2 two-mile event that begins at the Moccasin Creek pavilion in Clarkesville at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $35 as the registration ends during the morning hours on June 28.

Lake Burton Fun Run to draw 1,250 entrants

The course for the 37th Lake Burton Fun Run will once again be filled with runners on July 2 as the entrants start their two-mile trek at the Moccasin Creek pavilion in Clarkesville.

Rodeo shows coming to arena in Tiger

The popular rodeo returns to the Rabun Arena on the evenings of June 30 and July 1 with bucking broncos, barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling and bull riding. The gates at the covered arena open at 6 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can either be bought online at Eventbrite.

Tallulah Falls busy with sports camps, conditioning

The Tallulah Falls School Sports Fitness Center is open throughout the summer and camps continue in June and next month. The fitness center is overseen by the former multiple Division I university strength and conditioning coach Dianna Neal.
