Rabun Gap XC takes off into fall season

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee high school cross country team is looking to build off their state performance of last year. Led by head coach Kristen Meadors, the cross country team has five seniors, including William Cai, Dillon Jenkins, Dominic Vogelbacher, Caroline Bonomo and Meg Bruner.

RCHS X-country girls paced by Wright

Senior Molly Jo Wright took first for the Rabun County High School cross country team at Union on Thursday, Aug. 25. Wright took fourth overall with a time of 24:47, with junior Itzia Vasquez Ramos right behind her with a time of 25:24. Senior Trea Blalock was eighth overall finishing in 25:16.

Softball falls to HCHS, Stephens

After going 1-2 over the week, the Rabun County High School varsity softball team lost to Habersham Central High School on Wednesday evening. The Lady Cats JV team lost 5-4 after earning three runs in the final inning, while the varsity team fell to the Lady Raiders 7-2.

Lady Cats VB goes 2-0 at home

The Rabun County High School varsity volleyball team won back to back matches on Thursday night. The Lady Cats defeated Elbert County 2-1, winning 25-21, 23-25, 15-13.

Rabun County rec XC boasts three medalists in first meet

In their second year, the Rabun County Recreation Department cross country team is continuing to expand and get better. For the first meet of the season, the cross country team finished a meet at Athens YMCA with three runners getting medals.

Rabun Gap wins OT thriller 35-28 over Sequoyah

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School defeated Sequoyah 35-28 in overtime on Friday night for first year head coach Derek White’s first win with the Eagles. Sophomore Gavin Owens completed 17 passes on 22 attempts for 202 yards and one touchdown.

Delays don’t derail Wildcats’ win in opener

Mother Nature provided a three-hour pregame light show in Tallapoosa, but it would be the Wildcats who provided the lightning through the nighttime sky in the season opener as Rabun County stifled Class AA Haralson County 49-3.

Defense leads RCHS Wildcats to 14-7 win

As the Rabun County High School football team learned on Friday night, a blowout win and a defensive battle count the same in the win column. The RCHS Wildcats won a dog fight against Stephens County 14-7 on Friday night.
TFS Athletics. The Tallulah Falls varsity volleyball team celebrates Coach Matt Heyl’s 100 career wins with TFS. Heyl has led the squad to three 20-plus win seasons, including a school record 31 wins in 2018.

Lady Indians earn split, making history along the way: 100 wins for Coach Heyl

The TFS Lady Indians traveled Thursday to Apalachee, earning a win over the host school while dropping a match against Loganville. The original plan included playing Oglethorpe as well, but it backed out of the quad match.
