RGNS heads to Baylor to kick off 2023

This schedule is big-time high school football. With a team full to the brim of players receiving major college football scholarship offers plus talented underclassmen waiting in the wings,  Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will play some of the top programs in the nation this season.

Hunter to be inducted into Hall for being a 1960s star & more

For a generation of young boys who grew up in Rabun County in the mid to late 1960s, three-sport Wildcat star Ronnie Hunter was THE brightest athletic star that outshone even college and some professional players. He will be inducted into the Rabun County Athletic Hall of Fame at a Sept.

Classic day on the water

The 23rd Annual Mountain Air Classic presented by OneWake was held on Lake Burton on Aug. 5. More than 30 riders competed on site at the Billy Goat Island on the south end of Lake Burton.

Rabun County Hall of Fame to induct four teams, three individuals

The Rabun County Athletic Hall of Fame will induct four teams and three individuals in its Class of 2023. The newest hall of fame members will be recognized prior to the RCHS football game at Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 15.

RCHS scrimmages defending state champ at Bowdon Friday

The Rabun County Wildcats played one of the toughest schedules in the state last season. Each week the football team from Tiger faced off against ranked teams in various classifications. That 2022 schedule even pitted the Wildcats against Bowdon in a preseason scrimmage.

Golf tourney a driving force in fund-raising efforts for Sid Weber

The Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund Annual Golf Tournament had good weather on Aug. 2 at the Sky Valley Country Club for its annual event. The annual golf tournament is a day-long event as team play 18 holes.
