RCHS football season opener gets closer

Coming off head coach Michael Davis’ first season at the helm, the Rabun County Wildcats will open its football regular season at home as Haralson County comes to Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium on Aug. 18. The Wildcats then will play at Stephens County on Aug. 25; at Adairsville Sept.

Rabun defeats Franklin & raises funds, food for Food Bank

A recent Rabun vs.Franklin Pickleball Club War produced winners on and off the court. Counting cash and grocery donations, approximately $1,000 was raised for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

Brazilian soccer camp comes to Clayton

The Brazilian United Corporation came to Rabun County for the first time from Monday to Friday, June 19-23. This year is the first time BUC has held camps in Georgia, with camps in Rabun, Catoosa, Brantley, Cobb, Emanuel and Clayton counties.

Rodeo rides into town

The Rabun Arena hosted Bar W Rodeo Company for two rodeos as part of Rabun County’s celebration of Independence Day on Friday and Saturday, June 30-July 1.

Rabun Ramble draws hundreds to Lakemont for 5K, 10K

A record number of runners took on the hilly terrain of the 17th annual Rabun Ramble road race on the morning of Saturday, July 1, around Lake Rabun.

Lake Burton Fun Run attracts record number in 39th year

The 39th annual Lake Burton Fun Run took place with record numbers, starting at Moccasin Creek State Park and finishing at LaPrade’s Marina on Saturday, July 1.

Rabun County fields get summer makeover

The Rabun County High School athletic fields have been receiving a $4.6 million makeover throughout the summer, with turf fields being installed on the softball, football and baseball fields.

Rabun Gap All Sports Camp

Rabun Gap varsity boys lacrosse head coach Ryne Linsley led a brand new All Sports Camp on the Rabun Gap campus from Monday to Friday, June 12-16.

Ramping up camps

Rabun County High School tennis head coach Bryan Getty led two camps last weekend with a total of 50 local kids signing up between the two camps. The Summer Tennis Camp was at Kingwood Resort for kids ages 6-10, while the Wildcat Tennis Academy was held in the evenings for ages 9-14. 
RGNS Athletics. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School honored their upper school athletes with plaques for earning All-Conference as well as each coach handing out team-specific awards.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School honored their 2023 Spring sports award winners in a ceremony held at the Fine Arts Building, with athletes receiving coaches awards as well as plaques for earning All-Conference honors.
