Baloga, Stover sign to play football at next level

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, Rabun County High School saw two more football players sign their Letter of Intent to play at the next level.

Lovell inks collegiate letter for Brenau softball

Some student-athletes knew from kindergarten that they have the talent to play at a collegiate level. For others, like Rabun County senior Mary Lovell, that talent is recognized by teachers. Lovell, who played softball and basketball for the Lady Cats, signed her Letter of Intent on Tuesday, Jan.

Rabun County bids farewell to hoops seniors

The Rabun County Lady Cats are on a 12-game winning streak, retaining their undefeated record in region play with two victories over Tallulah Falls and Commerce. In the victory over Tallulah Falls on Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Lady Cats used a 31-10 second quarter to pull away for an 84-47 victory.

Wrestling Wildcats head toward mats in postseason tournaments

The Rabun County varsity wrestling team’s regular season has concluded, with the team now heading to their area tournament at Commerce on Feb. 3-4. On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Wildcats hosted their only home meet of the season against East Hall and Towns County.

Roman selected All-American after stellar RGNS soccer career

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School senior, Emilio Roman, was recognized at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 14. The banquet honors soccer players from across the United States who have been named to the All-America Teams.

Jennings pens LOI after record-setting career

It was never in doubt that Sarah Jennings would play at the next level. The only question was where. Jennings prior to her senior season had verbally committed to Covenant College to continue her volleyball and academic career.

TFS wins fourth middle school Tri-State title

The Tallulah Falls MS basketball teams ended the regular season on a high note, with both teams taking wins over rivals Rabun Gap at home on Saturday. The Lady Indians won 31-11.

Tallulah Falls boys soccer kicks off new season Friday

Tallulah Falls is set for a fantastic run in 2023. The Indians, in just their second season in GHSA, posted 10 wins for the first time since 2015. Last year’s team made the state playoffs for a second straight season after finishing third in the region standings.

TFS girls soccer aims higher after record-breaking year

The Lady Indians are fresh off an 11-win season in which the team qualified for the state playoffs for a second straight year. This marks year number three in GHSA, and TFS is hoping the trend will continue.
