Star receiver Gibson named to Georgia All-State team

Rabun County High School wide receiver Jaden Gibson was named to the Georgia High School Football Daily’s  Class A Division I All-State Team on Monday, Jan. 9. The three-star wide receiver, who will enroll early at University of Virginia when the semester starts on Wednesday, Jan.

TFS set for Athletic Legends & Alumni Weekend Jan. 13-14

Tallulah Falls School, in coordinated efforts with Alumni Weekend on January 13-14, will be holding special events on both Friday and Saturday, as the TFS basketball teams take on Commerce (Friday) and Prince Avenue Christian (Saturday) in back-to-back home games.

Lady Eagles soar to first region victory in 2023; RGNS boys lose close game after late comeback

After more than two weeks between games, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Lady Eagles returned to the court showing no signs of rust on Saturday, Jan. 7, with a 72-34 victory over Asheville School. The game, scheduled to be held at Rabun Gap’s campus, was moved to Franklin High School in North Carolina.

Wildcats, Lady Cats head into region play

The Rabun County girls basketball team is now 14-1 after two wins over the weekend. On Friday, Jan. 6, the Lady Cats traveled to Stephens County to play at Currahee Arena, rushing out to a 14-0 lead before allowing a basket.

Rabun Countians savor Georgia's sweet success

All Rabun County residents knew what Monday, Jan. 9, meant; a chance for history as the University of Georgia attempted to win back-to-back national championships.

Southards, Lady Cats cruise to win Battle of the States

The Rabun County Lady Cats won the 2022 Battle of the States Tournament to cap off the 2022 portion of their season. The Lady Cats won by at least 13 points in all three games, with junior Ellie Southards winning the 2022 Tournament MVP.   RCHS girls 66, Franklin 42 Against Franklin (N.C.

Wildcats come from behind to win tournament

The Rabun County Wildcats won the 2022 Battle of the States Tournament, defeating the previous champions in the semifinals to advance to the finals. The 8-5 Wildcats won by a total of six points across the three games, coming from behind in all three to win in dramatic fashion.

Wildcats, Lady Cats enter Battle of States after splitting games

The Rabun County basketball teams compete in the Battle of States in Towns County to wrap up the 2022 portion of their season. Both teams split their games last week on Dec. 20 and 21 before entering the tournament on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
