Four Rabun County wrestlers to grapple for state title

Four Rabun County wrestlers have made the trek down to Macon, Ga., for the GHSA wrestling State Championships after placing in the top six at Sectionals on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Commerce High School.

Rabun Gap basketball heads into playoffs

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee basketball teams have concluded the regular season with victories over Legion Collegiate Academy on Saturday, Feb. 11. As RGNS heads into the playoffs, the Lady Eagles are the No. 3 seed, while the Eagles are the No. 4 seed.

Seven Wildcat wrestlers head to sectionals

Seven Rabun County High School wrestlers qualified for the sectionals after finishing in the top four in the GHSA Class 1A Area 8 tournament at Commerce High School on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Wildcats will return to Commerce on Saturday, Feb. 11, for the sectionals which includes areas 3, 4, 6 and 8.

The Rabun County basketball teams have one more game remaining in the regular season after their bouts with Elbert County on Tuesday, Feb. 7, as the RCHS girls dropped their contest to the fellow state power and the boys dispensed of the Blue Devils.

Dampier makes TFS history as swimming state champion

Tallulah Falls’ Madison Dampier almost missed her race Saturday at the state championships. But she was ready when it was time to jump in, and she powered her way to a state championship in the 100 butterfly in 56.60 seconds.

Earnhardt wins 400th career victory as Lady Eagles win 10 of 12 games

With a victory against Asheville School on Tuesday, Jan. 24, Rabun Gap’s girls basketball head coach Dale Earnhardt picked up his 400th career win.

Eagles head into final game of regular season

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys basketball team saw their eight-game winning streak halted with a 65-49 loss to Christ School on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The story of the game can be summed up with one stat: Rabun Gap took five free throws while Christ School had 26 attempts from the charity stripe.
RGNS Athletics. Rabun Gap’s Ty Wilson was drafted to the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League on Jan. 22. Wilson, a sophomore, will be joined by fellow Rabun Gap student Jack Moores on the St. Catharines Athletics.

The future is bright for the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School boys lacrosse program. Eagles newcomer Ty Wilson of the Class of 2024, has been drafted into the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL). Wilson was drafted fourth overall by the St.

The Rabun County High School football coaches honored the 2022-23 football Wildcats with an awards banquet held in the Fine Arts Building on the high school campus on Sunday, Feb. Darrin Giles, on behalf of the booster club, started off the ceremony.
