Rabun Gap rewards students for their fall season successes

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School awarded their Middle and Upper School students for their success in the fall season. Awards were given out for the Middle School musical, Upper School cirque, volleyball, cross country, boys soccer, tennis, football, Upper School girls golf, and Middle School swimming.

PERRY, GA – Go Draw a Fish! The 25th Anniversary Fish Art Contest is now officially underway. Using art and writing, the Georgia Fish Art Contest (part of the internationalWildlife Forever Fish Art Contest) can ignite children’s imagination and inspire them to discover more about fish and fishing.

Poster contest turns attention to wildlife tales

SOCIAL CIRCLE  – Teachers and students across the state are invited to celebrate wildlife through art by participating in the 33rd annual Give Wildlife a Chance Poster Contest.

Rabun County pickleball tournament

Great time with friends from North Carolina at the Rabun Rec Center playing pickleballon Saturday, Nov. 12. Franklin won 26 games to 24 in a fun filled day with old & new friends. Thanks to Danny Burch & George McClure for coordinating the event.

Cheerful winners

The 9-and-under Rabun County cheerleaders won the crowd appeal award at the North Georgia Youth Football Association cheer competition on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Banks County High School.

Wildcats ‘sparkle’ against Dade

The end result was what Wildcat Nation sought, but a “spark” was needed to help fulfill that goal. Rabun County (11-0) advanced to the second round of the GSHA Class A Division I state football playoffs on Nov. 11 with a 47-7 victory over No. 4-seeded Dade County from Region 7.

Heartbreaker: Eagles fall on last-second Hail Mary in semis

After a streak that saw the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee football team win eight of their last 10 games, the Eagles fell in the semifinals 33-31 to the Charlotte Christian School Knights on a last-second Hail Mary.

TFS’s Lightbourne makes school history

On Nov. 9 for early Signing Day, star senior guard Denika Lightbourne signed her Letter of Intent with the University of Dayton. Lightbourne will continue her academic and basketball career with the Dayton Flyers, located in Dayton, Ohio.

Five Rabun Gap baseball seniors ink collegiate offers

While their season doesn’t start for another three months, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee baseball team started their season off strong with five seniors signing to play in college last Wednesday.
