RCHS girls hoops come into season with something to prove

The Rabun County High School girls basketball team takes on Seneca for a scrimmage on Thursday, Nov. 10. The Lady Cats will look to build off their last season which saw them as state runner-up to regional foe Elbert County.

RCHS opens playoffs with Dade County

After a week off, the 10-0 Rabun County Wildcats will face off against Dade County in Round 1 of the Georgia High School Association Class A Division I Playoffs. RCHS will host Dade County on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Cats lead way for county’s four XC teams at state

Both teams from Rabun County and Tallulah Falls raced early on Friday morning in the Georgia High School Association 1A Division I Cross Country Championship. The boys ran first, with Rabun County taking 16th place overall with Tallulah falls in 17th place.

Two All-State returners set tone for TFS girls basketball

A year ago, the Lady Indians had an unforgettable season that saw TFS win its first-ever region title and make the first trip to the Elite 8. Tallulah Falls went 15-5 overall and were ranked as high as #7 in the state polls.

Eight seniors lead charge for Tallulah Falls boys basketball

The roster might have undergone some reconstruction with a solid group of seniors graduating, but as the Indians turn the calendar to the 2022-23 season, coach Cody Coleman has a group that he believes will continue to improve.

Brutal schedule for Lady Eagles’ title defense

After winning the 2022 4A North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association State championship last year, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee girls basketball team returns eight key players in an attempt to repeat. The Lady Eagles hosted Marietta High School on Wednesday, Nov.

Eagles bball boast continuity heading into season

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee varsity basketball team will be led by five seniors as the core of the team. Domas Kauzonas, Paulius Matulionis, Theo Antinori, Luke Earnhadrt, and DJ Kovacevic make up the graduating class.

Bass fishing team takes third in tourney

The Tallulah Falls School Bass Fishing team is set to begin the 2022-23 season. Once again, the team will compete within the Georgia Bass Nation tournament. This year’s crew consists of six anglers, three high-schoolers and three middle-schoolers.

Last season, the Precision Rifle team was supposed to experience growing pains of sorts as the team was young and mostly inexperienced aside from veteran senior leader Andrew Erwin.

RGNS to host gridiron state playoff tilt

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee varsity football team rolled over High Point Christian Academy 62-7 on their way to a 7-3 record as well as a 5-1 record in league play.
