The American Red Cross continues to amplify the ongoing critical need for blood and platelets to keep the blood supply stable as fall begins. Donors of all blood types, especially those with type O blood, those giving platelets and those who have never given before, are needed now.

Fall is upon us and with it are the fall respiratory diseases. Flu, COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus or RSV, and pneumococcal disease (pneumonia) cause hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths during this season. How can we prepare for and prevent these illnesses?

Man, 80, dies following Ga. 15 crash in Dillard

An 80-year-old man died following a morning crash involving two vehicles on Ga. 15 at Franklin Street in Dillard on Friday, Sept. 13. Ralph Ratta succumbed to his injuries from the crash, according to preliminary details provided by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Public Information Office.
