Clayton council designates April 28 as Arbor Day in city

CLAYTON– Clayton City Council members approved a proclamation to recognize April 28 as Arbor Day in the city of Clayton at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Creating Ties That Bind donates multiple flags to Town of Tiger

TIGER – The local nonprofit organization Creating Ties That Bind: For Soldiers and Families Wounded By Loss recently donated patriotic flags to the Town of Tiger to be displayed in the downtown area.

Artists gave presentations for each of their works, describing the medium and inspiration behind them, then displayed them for other Guild members to observe and converse about during the meeting.

North Georgia Arts Guild showcases members’ talents

It was a colorful display of beautiful artwork during the North Georgia Arts Guild meeting Thursday, Feb. 16 as more than 20 members showcased their works of art they have been working on over the past year.

Rabun Gap student presented with prints for publishing article in Foxfire

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School sophomore student Kathryn Stribling was recently presented with a set of John Kollock prints by the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, which is located in Sautee Nacoochee. Stribling was presented with the prints at the museum on Feb.

Rabun County FFA celebrates 2023 National FFA Week

The Rabun County High School FFA Chapter was first established in 1938, and is still advocating for the future of agriculture. Clay Brown and James Hale currently serve as advisors for the Rabun County FFA Chapter.

TFS Robotics Club wins four qualification matches at Lakeview

The Tallulah Falls School Robotics Club competed in several qualification matches on Saturday at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, winning four of the five. The league tournament was Saturday, Jan. 21, at Mt. Paran. The Feb. 24 state championship participants are chosen at the league tournament.

SKY VALLEY–After 25 years of Sky Valley City Hall being located at 3444 Highway 246, it officially will be relocated less than a mile up the road to 3608 Highway 246 in Sky Valley in the next few months, estimated for around May.

Citizens give opinions on future of zoning

Members of the Rabun County community showed out and made their opinions known at an event held at the Rabun County Civic Center Feb. 9 to gauge input on the county’s zoning ordinances.
