State Rep. Stan Gunter (R-Blairsville) was recently appointed as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee by the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments. The Georgia House of Representatives sent out a press release Jan. 18 regarding the appointment.

County passes first reading to allow campers, motorhomes during construction

The Rabun County Board of Commissioners passed the first reading to the zoning ordinance to allow for campers and motorhomes on a property during the construction of a dwelling.

Community mourns loss of RCMS K9 Bo

The Rabun County community is mourning the loss of K9 Bo who suddenly passed away Jan. 16. Rabun County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy (SRD) Eric McKinney was the canine’s owner/handler and partner.

Serious injuries reported in three-vehicle crash

CLAYTON – Several injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash on Ga. 15 at Ramey Blvd. in Clayton Sunday afternoon. In the crash that occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 15, a 2021 Tesla Model S, driven by John Lawrence Vandegrift, 63 of Dallas, Ga.
