A Franklin, N.C., man is in critical condition following a one-vehicle crash on Highway 246 around Winding Ridge Drive in Rabun County June 17. Domingo Roman, 56, of Franklin, N.C., was traveling west on Highway 246 in an orange 1989 Ford LNT8000, with passenger Justin Adams, 25, of Franklin, N.C.

RCWSA, Clayton agree on control valve terms

The Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) and Clayton City Council members have agreed to terms in an addendum for a water control valve; something that both entities have previously gone back and forth on. The valve would allow for the rehabilitation of the water treatment plant.

City of Sky Valley to begin paving Evergreen Road within weeks

SKY VALLEY– The City of Sky Valley will soon begin paving Evergreen Road following approval by Council Members in May. The paving of the road would provide critical access to portions of the city during instances of flooding and other emergency situations.

CLAYTON– Ellie Vargas has been employed at the Chechero Recycling Center since the beginning of the year and works hard every day to do her best. On June 20, Vargas was pushing trash bags into the compactor when she fell inside with the trash bags. “I was trying to do a good job at work.

Traffic delay on Savannah Street for sewer man hole repair begins Tuesday

Motorists should expect traffic delays on Savannah Street in Clayton beginning Tuesday due to repair of a sewer manhole.  According to Clayton City Officials, work is set to begin Tuesday, June 21 to repair a sewer manhole on Savannah Street in front of Keller Furniture.
