Environmental science happens every day that is location-specific to Rabun County’s nature and an elementary school fourth grade class got the chance to be part of that process. The class of Laurie Dills and Becky Flory accepted the “Great Georgia Pollinator Protectors Challenge.

Ramey pleads guilty to homicide by vehicle

A 25-year-old Rabun County man pled guilty to homicide by vehicle on May 18 in superior court in connection with an Aug. 8, 2020, hit-and-run crash that killed a 26-year-old Clayton pedestrian. The driver Chantz Rock Ramey was 24 at the time of the crash that resulted in the death of Mario Webb.

The rematch is set for the governorship of Georgia as Brian Kemp again will face Democratic opponent Stacey Abrams in November while Republican Peach State football legend Herschel Walker will meet incumbent Rev. Raphael Warnock for U.S. Senate.

Three arrested for their links to murder case

A missing person report filed May 20 led to the arrest of three people suspected to be involved with a woman’s disappearance and possible death. An investigation was led by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

Daley appointed to water and sewer authority

Dee Daley was recently appointed to the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA). She was appointed by Clayton City Council members at the May 17 meeting.  “I look forward to working with Dee.

Injuries reported in three-vehicle crash

Injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash on Georgia 15 at Ledford Road in Dillard Monday evening. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Post 7-Toccoa responded to the crash around 5:10 p.m. A white 2011 Nissan Altima, driven by Hao T. Nguyen, 54, of Duluth, Ga.

No injuries were reported in a crash involving three tractor trailers on Georgia 15 at Highway 246 in Dillard Monday around 2:30 p.m. A white 2019 Freightliner Cascadia , driven by Singh Sukhwinder, 47, of Brampton, Ontario;  a white 2016 Mack 600, driven by Gene Larry Martin, 66, of Elkin, N.C.

Tallulah Falls Class of 2022 earns diplomas
