Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School celebrated its fall-season award winners in the arts and athletic programs at the Upper School Nov. 17. Award winners were:  Girls tennis: Most Valuable Player, Rebeca Ley of Monterrey, Mexico; Coach’s Award, Lexi Burnett of Franklin, N.C.

Clayton awarded $500,000 GEFA loan for Kingwood sewer system repairs

CLAYTON-- The city of Clayton was recently awarded a $500,000 Georgia Fund loan by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) board of directors.

Four arrested in joint agency drug trafficking investigation

An investigation by law enforcement officials of multiple agencies Nov. 18 into trafficking methamphetamine over North Georgia counties resulted in four arrests -- two of whom are from Rabun County.

Clayton nonprofits taking part in upcoming GAgives

Clayton nonprofits are taking part in GAgives on Giving Tuesday, an International Day of Giving, which is Nov. 30 this year. Those participating from Clayton include A Place of Hope North Georgia, Inc., and Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH)  in Rabun County.

North Georgia Community Players to hold two weekends of holiday performances

COVID-19 did not give people a reason to dance, sing or watch a theatrical performance. But the North Georgia Community Players have returned. The 20-year organization will present a production in Dillard on Dec. 3, 4 and 5 and Dec. 10, 11 and 12.

Blossman Gas participating in Toy for Tots

Blossman Gas & Appliance, located at 66 Rickman Dr., Clayton, has teamed up with Toys for Tots this holiday season. The goal of the Toys for Tots Program, which was started by the U.S. Marine Corps, is to collect new toys and distribute them to less fortunate children for Christmas.
