Rabun military veterans gathered Tuesday morning at the Civic Center Diner to participate in the now monthly Vet-to-Vet Cafe, sponsored by Forward Rabun and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Local teen competes at State 4-H competition

Since 1942, State Congress has been the premier competition and recognition event for high school age Georgia 4-H’ers.

Clayton, county water wars prompt lawsuits, loss of state revenue

This is the third in a multi-part history of the Rabun County Water Wars, which have cost local taxpayers more than a million dollars over the years. The dawn of a new year brought tidings of joy for Clayton. In January it reported water losses were down for two months in a row.

COVID community transmission level high in Rabun

Rabun County’s COVID-19 community transmission level is classified as high, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data tracker, as of Tuesday.  According to the data, 3,638 people in Rabun County are fully vaccinated. This is 21.2 percent of the total population.

New assistant jail administrator wants to make a difference

Lt. Michael Bennett is passionate about helping others as a law enforcement officer. He’s been a police officer for about 11-and-a-half years.  That dedication has translated to his new role as assistant jail administrator at the Rabun County Detention Center.  “This is what I’m meant to do.

Leadership Rabun participants receive certificates

LAKEMONT-- Participants of Leadership Rabun were given certificates of completion at the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce after hours event in Lakemont last month.  The awards were handed out by former Chamber of Commerce President Tony Allred.

Group completes Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy

A group of community members completed the Citizens’ Law Enforcement Academy offered by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office July 20.  “The Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce another successful completion of our Citizens’ Sheriff Academy.
