RABUN GAP-- Search warrants executed by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) at a Rabun Gap residence on June 18 led to the discovery of a large quantity of suspected narcotics, numerous firearms and the arrest of three people.

Local groups seek funds for affordable housing

CLAYTON-- Forward Rabun has partnered with local nonprofits Habitat for Humanity and Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) to apply for the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) grant through the University of Georgia (UGA) in an effort to provide affordable housing in Rabun County.

Rabun elections office moving to new location

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County elections office is relocating after the Rabun County Board of Elections and Registration voted unanimously at their June 2 meeting to move the elections office to 184 S Main St. Suite 102 in Clayton (area below the health department), due to spacing issues.

CLAYTON-- An attempted traffic stop by Rabun County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) deputies on Highway 76 East at Rainey Mountain Rd. in Clayton on July 1 led to a high-speed chase and the arrest of a Clayton man.

CLAYTON-- St. James Episcopal Church held its 14th annual Flower Festival with the theme “God’s Creation: Behold, I make all things new” at the church on Saturday.  The church is located at 260 Warwoman Rd. in Clayton.

Summer camp gives opportunity for teens to serve

TIGER-- Many summer camps give students opportunities to serve their communities and give back to those in need.  The Life Teen movement at Camp Covecrest in Tiger allows students to serve others in need through various projects while also serving Christ.
