County to give raises, keep millage rate

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the FY 2022 budget of $23,570,092 at a called meeting on Tuesday.  Included in the budget is a five percent salary increase for all county employees across the board.

School board approves $30.8 million budget

TIGER-- The Rabun County Board of Education approved the FY 2022 budget for $30,813,071 at a called board meeting last Thursday.  Estimated expenditures increased by $1,433,331 and estimated revenues increased by $739,027.

Library shows off new renovations

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Public Library held an open house last Saturday for the public to view the newly renovated library and meet the new library manager, Dyana Costello Banks.  Costello Banks gave opening remarks and welcomed visitors to the library.

Governor issues final public health order for COVID-19

Groups drop lawsuit over MLB All-Star game

ATLANTA – A business advocacy group that sued Major League Baseball (MLB) for moving the All-Star Game out of Georgia dropped the case Monday, nearly two weeks after an adverse court ruling.

Clayton council votes to dispute April water bill

CLAYTON-- Clayton City Council members voted Tuesday not to pay a $26,000 April water bill from the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) and to send a letter to them “stating that we (the city) disagree with the amended charge of $26,000.
