CLAYTON—The city council voted 3-2 Tuesday to table the first reading on a proposed short-term rental ordinance until next month in order to address concerns from owners in property zoned R-1 who do not want Airbnb’s and other vacation rentals in their neighborhoods.

CLAYTON— On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, an armistice was signed to end WWI. Rabun County honored that day at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in a Veterans Day Ceremony held at the Rabun County Courthouse.

CLAYTON— A Mountain City man was arrested following a car accident in Clayton on Ga 15 on Thursday, October 31 around 4:32 p.m. Ronald Lee Henslee, 57, was arrested and charged with DUI and Failure to Yield Right of Way, according to an incident report from the Clayton Police Department.

Voters Opt for fresh faces

CLAYTON— The final ballots have been cast and despite low voter turnout, several incumbent seats have been overturned in the cities of Clayton, Sky Valley, Tallulah Falls, Tiger and Dillard. Out of 2,256 registered voters in all five cities combined only 839 cast their vote, a turnout of 37.
